By accessing or using MenuMate (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MenuMate is a platform that allows users to:

• View canteen menus from their affiliated workplace, university, or institution
• Rate and review dishes
• View ratings and reviews from other users in their canteen community
• Access statistics and trends about dish popularity

3. User Accounts

Account Creation

To use MenuMate, you must create an account by providing your name and email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

Account Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as necessary.

Account Security

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. User Content and Conduct

Content You Post

You are solely responsible for the ratings, reviews, and comments you post on MenuMate. By posting content, you represent that:

• The content is accurate and based on your genuine experience
• You have the right to post the content
• The content does not violate any laws or these Terms

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent reviews
• Post offensive, abusive, defamatory, or harassing content
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Post spam or promotional content
• Attempt to manipulate ratings or rankings
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

5. Content Ownership and License

Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you post. However, by posting content on MenuMate, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with operating and promoting the Service.

Our Content

The Service, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by MenuMate and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6. Content Visibility and Privacy

Important: Your ratings and reviews are visible to other users within your canteen community in an anonymized form. We anonymize and de-identify your ratings so that other users cannot see who posted them. By posting content, you acknowledge and accept that your ratings will be displayed anonymously to the community.

7. Content Moderation

We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to:

• Monitor and review user-generated content
• Remove or edit content that violates these Terms
• Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

8. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be:

• Available at all times without interruption
• Error-free or secure
• Free from viruses or other harmful components

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Menu information is provided by canteen administrators. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of menu information. User ratings and reviews are opinions of individual users and do not necessarily reflect our views.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MENUMATE AND ITS DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or your personal information
• Any interruption or cessation of the Service
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code
• Any content posted by users

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MenuMate, its developer, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Content you post on the Service

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of these Terms. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good faith negotiations. If negotiations fail, disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Germany.
